Established in 1992. European Film Festival Palić is one of the most important art festivals in Serbia. It is taking place every July on Lake Palić and city of Subotica.  The film program of the Festival consists of fourteen selections in which more than 140 films of various genres are screened. The films are shown at five locations in Palić and Subotica, and the main venue is the unique Summer Stage, placed in the dense forest of Palić. During the Festival, numerous workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions and concerts are held. The “Golden Tower” for the best film and “Palic Tower” for the best director are the awards in the Main Competition Program.

In addition to these two, films also compete for the Special Jury Prize, as well as the FIPRESCI Jury Prize. An international Jury awards the prize for the best film from the program Parallels and Encounters. During each festival, Alexander Lifka Awards are assigned to foreign, regional and domestic laureates for their outstanding contribution to European cinema, while as part of the Young Spirit of Europe program, a European filmmaker is awarded the Underground Spirit Award for the outstanding work in the field of independent film. Every year, more than 25,000 visitors attend Festival programs as well as over 200 guests from the world of film and art. About 200 accredited journalists follow all the events and report from the festival.
